Bear Patch Sew Creative Event

If you have a bit of free time,
you can put it to good use by attending the
Bear Patch Sew Creative Event.  Three times to choose from:
Wednesday, March 19 at 1 PM or 6:30 PM
Sunday, March 23 at 1 PM

A $5 fee reserves your seat and you can easily register by calling 651-429-1039.  This has become an annual event and is a time to feature several specialty rulers and the projects that go with them.  An explanation and demo of the unique use of each ruler will help you see how you can apply it to your own quilting.  Discounts on all the products are valid the day of class.  Beverages and goodies will be served!

Here are some things that I have been working on to show:

Step Right Up!

This is a new sample quilt sewn by Laurel from the Quilt MN 2013 fabrics.  She used a pattern from The Sewing Revolution called the Brown and Aqua Step Quilt.  We changed it to just The Step Quilt.  Laurel made an earlier version of this for our Sew Creative event last winter, using 2 specialty rulers from Creative Grids.  She put on her creative thinking cap, and made the 5" printed squares just a little bigger with a narrow brown border, then they fit right into this design.
Patterns, rulers and kits are available starting August 2.

Call us now at 651-429-1039 to reserve yours!

A Real Teaser

This may not seem fair, but I'm doing it anyway!  I have been lucky to have a whole week away for sewing, you can read more about it here.  Quite a bit of what I did was dedicated to things that will be displayed and/or taught at the store in the coming months.  So here's a preview--

This is a pattern I am preparing to write.  It will be part of the Bear Patch Sew Creative Event.  It's not completed yet, this is as far as I have made it.  I promise it will look better!  At least I will iron it!

And then there are my giant scissors!  I do have a soft spot in my heart for scissors, so when I saw this pattern by Bee In My Bonnet, I had to have it.  I still need to quilt and bind it and add buttons right where the blades crisscross.  This will hopefully be on the summer class schedule, and I will be putting together kits.  This is all rotary cut and pieced the usual way, not paper pieced.  And it was fun!

So I hope you are tantalized and inspired, and do sign up for the Sew Creative Event.  Three times to choose from, March 6 & 10, daytime and evening, weekday and weekend.  So something should work for you!

See you soon I hope --Pam
