Bear Patch Sew Creative Event

If you have a bit of free time,
you can put it to good use by attending the
Bear Patch Sew Creative Event.  Three times to choose from:
Wednesday, March 19 at 1 PM or 6:30 PM
Sunday, March 23 at 1 PM

A $5 fee reserves your seat and you can easily register by calling 651-429-1039.  This has become an annual event and is a time to feature several specialty rulers and the projects that go with them.  An explanation and demo of the unique use of each ruler will help you see how you can apply it to your own quilting.  Discounts on all the products are valid the day of class.  Beverages and goodies will be served!

Here are some things that I have been working on to show:

A Flurry of Flannels

Just like the cycles of the moon and the ebb and flow of the tides, our fabrics go through cycles.
Right now we are at the high tide of flannels!
Here is a sampling:

I don't think I remember ever seeing this many bolts of solids and tone-on-tone flannels on the shelves at one time.  We are overflowing onto the floor space and way around the corner.
And some of these are really fat bolts, meaning there is a good amount of yardage.
Perfect for quilt backs, as well as fronts!

Do you have 10 minutes to spare?
We are sharing a great little tutorial that will teach you a quick and easy way to use these flannels to make a baby receiving blanket.  Purchase 1 yard of one flannel and 1 1/4 yard of a coordinating flannel.  We suggest you pre-wash these in a baby-friendly detergent to get some of the shrinkage factor out of the way before sewing.
Then follow the directions in the video and bam!
A baby shower gift!

They're Back!

I know I'm not the only one who has been a
fan of American Jane fabrics.
Especially these cute "Pez" prints and tape measure prints.
Well, they are back!  Which ones to choose?

We have some dots, checks and flowers to round out the selection.
Stop in and let us cut a few choice bits for you!

Back To The Real World

It's good to be home but sure do wish that life was one big long retreat!  Lots of things got stitched up, some got finished and even more got started!  There is no lack of creative thinking among this group and it serves to encourage us to look outside the box now and then.  I have some of the pictures assembled in this slide show--
