A Flurry of Flannels

Just like the cycles of the moon and the ebb and flow of the tides, our fabrics go through cycles.
Right now we are at the high tide of flannels!
Here is a sampling:

I don't think I remember ever seeing this many bolts of solids and tone-on-tone flannels on the shelves at one time.  We are overflowing onto the floor space and way around the corner.
And some of these are really fat bolts, meaning there is a good amount of yardage.
Perfect for quilt backs, as well as fronts!

Do you have 10 minutes to spare?
We are sharing a great little tutorial that will teach you a quick and easy way to use these flannels to make a baby receiving blanket.  Purchase 1 yard of one flannel and 1 1/4 yard of a coordinating flannel.  We suggest you pre-wash these in a baby-friendly detergent to get some of the shrinkage factor out of the way before sewing.
Then follow the directions in the video and bam!
A baby shower gift!
Done!

Your flannels are beautiful! And I loved the tutorial about making receiving blankets. Can't wait to try one (or more!).

I think you know of a little baby boy due any moment, and I'm sure he would love a new cozy blankie from a great auntie!
