The 12 Days of Christmas
Day 2
Purchase the Mini Binding Tool for the regular price of $7, get the Story Patch free, normally a $2.99 value.
We can all use a little help when it comes to finishing up a quilting project. I wish we could have Santa's elves take care of the binding and labeling for you.
Since they are pretty busy elsewhere, we have something else for your stocking that will give you a jump on reaching the finish line.
One of the important steps to a good looking finished binding is getting a neat join of the binding ends. If you have ever struggled with this, you know how frustrating it can be. Now The Quilter's Mercantile has prepared a special little ruler and tool that will take the pain out of the process for you.
Laurel has used this as part of her binding workshop for quite awhile, and many of her students have learned how valuable this tool is. If you would like to see how to use it, watch the short video below.
OK, now that the binding is done, it's time to attach a label to explain who made the quilt and the story behind it. Oh, wait, no time for drawing, stitching, embroidering, etc.? Once again, my quilt goes unlabeled.
No-Quilt-Label-Sad-Face |
Think of it as an electronic quilt label. It's a little fabric square that can be sewn/fused to your quilt and contains a code that links it to the information you loaded. It can be used with still photos, voice recordings and up to 2 minutes of video recording. It is machine washable and lasts forever. A smart phone or computer is needed to retrieve the information, and can be accessed again and again.

Just imagine the personal history that can now be attached to your precious quilts. They say every quilt tells a story. Now you can tell yours electronically for a lifetime.
