Lots o' Stars
Yesterday I snuck in some time to try to catch up on the Feathered Star blocks for the machine embroidery class I am taking. Anne and Laurel have been guiding us along all year on this Hpopsisters design. And for a newbie like me this has been perfect to keep me on the learning track for machine embroidery. If you are learning or re-learning this craft, signing up for a series of classes is just the ticket. The repetition over the first few months really made me feel comfortable with my machine. So much so that I branched off on a couple of additional Christmas projects. I don't have pictures of those to share today but I will soon, promise.

Fab Fabric
Sometimes you just really have to have your sense of touch to really appreciate all aspects of a textile. This group of bolts from Art Gallery Fabrics is a perfect example. The name of the group is Minimalista. The pictures below, although not the best quality (they are pictures of pictures), do give a snapshot of the styles of the prints.

Hot Off The Press!
Just unpacked some more new magazines for you! Just in time for holiday inspiration. The Quilting Arts and Quilt Festival issues both have numerous small projects with full directions. Get them while they are fresh! Don't you love that smell of a new copy, something about the ink on paper that my e-reader just can't match!
